Rustic Timber Designs Inc. specializes in making unique hand crafted furniture from salvaged timber. We use domestic and exotic hardwood trees from South Florida that have fallen due to Hurricanes and land clearings. We do not purchase our slabs from other mills we are in charge of every aspect of our lumber. Each slab is hand picked specifically for each project. Our artistry starts with the tree itself, concentrating on precise cutting for optimum size and shape resulting in a unique slab that will stand out. Due to the tropical environment of South Florida we have timber that grows no where else in the country. We have a large array of tropical and exotic hardwoods that are not available in the commercial lumber market. This separates us from our competitors for it is extremely difficult to find the timbers we use for our custom furniture pieces. Each piece of furniture is constructed by hand with detail to quality as our highest objective. We work side by side with our clients allowing them to choose the slab they desire to add that unique conversation piece to their home or business.

We specialize in the use of slabs with live edges, which mean that the natural shape and edges of the tree are left uncut making for a natural piece of art. Our timbers are mainly considered rustic because of the unique defects and character they posses. Many of our slabs will have knots, holes, cracks, irregular grain and inconsistent coloring adding to its natural beauty.
